Turning tragedy into lasting change
The Sam Failla Foundation is dedicated to saving lives by reforming emergency communication protocols, championing modern technology, and empowering first responders with the tools they need to act quickly and effectively.

Remembering Sam Failla
On January 6, 2018, Sam Failla tragically lost his life on Vail Mountain. Critical gaps and flawed communication protocols between 911 dispatch, EMS, and mountain first responders prevented timely rescue. Based in Chatham, New Jersey, our foundation was established to honor Sam’s memory by ensuring that no family experiences a preventable tragedy due to miscommunication.

Bridging the communication gap with technology
When someone faces a life-or-death situation, every second counts. The breakdown often lies in outdated workflows and fragmented information systems. We advocate for integrating real-time communication tools, modern location-tracking software, and comprehensive training across all emergency response units to ensure instant, coordinated action.

Advocating for leaders across all sectors
Through keynote presentations and interactive discussions, we connect with first responder departments, technology innovators, community organizers, and policymakers. Our mission is to raise awareness, foster meaningful collaboration, and push for legislative and institutional advancements that safeguard lives everywhere.
"Empower dispatch, EMS, and first responders with the vital information and technology to save lives when every second matters."
